Book adaptation does not disappoint

city of bones

It is no secret to anyone who reads my reviews, which is probably only my mother, that the books I like to review are on the science fiction side. Last semester I did a review for the new series of books, Mortal Instruments, and the first installment of those books, City of Bones. A few weeks ago, the movie for City of Bones came out, and it did not disappoint.

The opening scene that explains the whole shadow hunter concept of the movie was dead on. The director, Harald Zwart, had a top billed cast including Lily Collins as "Clary Fray" and Jamie Campbell Bower as "Jace Wayland," and both actors did a wonderful job of staying true to the characteristics of the book. The best parts about this movie, though, were the action scenes. From running away from vampires and demons, to stopping fellow shadow hunters, City of Bones was on my list as one of the must see movies this fall!
