Hampton Nabs League Honor
Lady Chap freshman Nicole Hampton was rightfully rewarded for her historic accomplishment this week by the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Freshman Nicole Hampton claimed the weekly league honor for the second time this season.
The Canyon High School product was selected as the Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 23-29, giving LCU a string of four honorees in a row and all by different players.
Hampton, a guard for the Lady Chaps, established an NAIA Div. I record by making her 60th consecutive free throw last week. The streak covers 13 games and she broke the record of 57 held by Jackie Weaver of Trevecca Nazarene. Hampton set the mark of 60 last Saturday by going 6-for-6 from the line in a win over No. 16 Southern Nazarene. The streak is still intact. She averaged 13.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 steals on the week in wins over USAO and Southern Nazarene to help LCU extend their win streak to a program record 14 games.
An LCU player has received Player of the Week honors seven times this season. The last four and six of the last seven honors have been issued to Lady Chap players. Hampton becomes the third LCU player to claim the honor twice. Her first honor came in Week six.
