LCU Grad Assists with WTAMU Football
Lubbock Christian University graduate, Brian Sepkowitz, currently serves as an assistant football coach for NCAA Division II West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas.

Coach Sepkowitz is pictured here with one of his players at WTAMU.
The WTAMU Buffalo football squad finished the regular season with a national ranking of 21st in the NCAA Division II polls. Sepkowitz served on the Buff staff that is led by head coach Don Carthel, who was the head football coach for the Lubbock Christian University football team in the early 80s. Sepkowitz oversaw the kicking game and he also assisted with the defensive line coaching duties as well.
After passing the NCAA coaches test he was given the responsibility of recruiting high school players out of the New Mexico and El Paso area. He received a bachelor's degree from LCU in December 2010 and he used his time at LCU to get a Graduate Assistant position for the Buffaloes football program.
"I was fortunate enough to work for the LCU sports program in each of my years attending school as well as interning for the Lubbock Christian High School football team for one season before graduating," said Sepkowitz. "I feel very blessed and fortunate for the opportunity that has been given me. I owe LCU and the (Exercise and Sports Science) Department a lifetime of gratitude for helping me be in the position I am today."
Sepkowitz specifically wishes to acknowledge and thank Dr. Dean Culpepper, Dr. Darrell Price and Sports Information Director, Chris Due, for always offering sound advice as well as opportunities to better himself while preparing for his future career.
"I want to encourage all LCU students, especially in the (ESS) Department to continue working hard in their education and know that the school and the staff will do everything they can to help you get a job and a career that you have worked towards," he said. "Also, during my time at LCU I did not realize how much I appreciated being in a Christian environment where I was supported and encouraged by Christian brothers and sisters around me. I hope that you will all enjoy and appreciate your time at LCU ... they truly have helped me come to a place where I am able to work in a situation that is truly a dream come true."
