Almost Showtime
Master Follies is one of the biggest events each year on the Lubbock Christian University campus in which each of the eight social clubs have the opportunity to perform a routine on the big stage.

The Zeta show will be one of the eight produced by social clubs on the LCU campus during Master Follies 2012.
The DusterToday caught up with Ali Ernst (Zeta) and Carly Shelton (CDs), two of the women's clubs, to see how each of their clubs are faring as they get ready for their debut performance tonight at 7:30 pm in the McDonald Moody Auditorium.
Duster: How are your clubs getting ready for the big weekend? Has it been harder than usual trying to get ready in such a short time crunch?Ernst:
This is my second year doing Follies and we had the same amount of time as we did last year in order to prep for the show - sure it seems like time just flies by but that is when clubs learn together how to manage time and work efficiently with each other. I haven't really found the amount of time challenging - I have found it to be more of a goal.Shelton:
Getting ready for this coming weekend has been a very tedious but exciting process. We have had some very intense practices over the past few weeks, including our all-day practice. Having a shorter time period is harder...and I wonder how we managed to work under that sleep deprivation longer than three weeks. Seems all the clubs' shows come out good either way.
Duster: What do you think about the "dinner" theme this year?Ernst:
When I first heard about the dining theme, I was kind of awe stricken; I thought, "Hmm' now that's an interesting theme," and when you try to explain the theme to people they are more bewildered than I ever was. Yes, it is an interesting theme but it is also a very fun and broad theme. There are so many ways to interpret a dining theme and I think the viewers of all ages will appreciate the productions that all of the clubs have to offer.Shelton:
The food theme this year I thought was interesting - didn't quite know what to think about it at first. Like the time crunch, I believe it will all work out as well. We have some really smart people working at all ends of the spectrum.
Duster: Are you allowed to give any kind of sneak peeks about what each of your clubs will perform this weekend?Ernst:
Zeta's show this year has lots in store for our viewers; our behavior and reactions change drastically from the beginning of our show to the end of our show. We incorporated props as a major focus of our show. Zeta and I are pretty excited to present all of our hard work to friends and family of LCU!Shelton:
I don't think I am allowed to say anything about what we are doing, but I think I can give you a hint: within this past year, we guest starred in a movie.
Duster: Overall, what is your favorite aspect of Homecoming?Ernst:
Let me just say my favorite part about homecoming as an LCU student and as a daughter of an alumni has and always will be the production of Master Follies!Shelton:
Overall, I would have to say that the whole spirit of the Master Follies weekend is my favorite - having all the parents in town, everybody so proud of their show: homecoming weekend. It's really hard not to get caught up in the excitement and forget about homework. What I also love about Follies is that I get to grow so much closer to my sisters. This is a time that we get to learn something together and feel really proud about it.There are many people involved with the production of Master Follies ranging from the social clubs to the marketing and communications department at LCU, along with many professors and other sponsors. Past shows have proved to be quite outstanding and Master Follies 2012 is beginning to look like it is going to be especially impressive.
The Duster wishes good luck to everyone in the show tonight and Saturday!
