Lean on Me!

We all have issues that seem to interfere with our daily lives. We are here to offer friendly and, hopefully useful, advice on dealing with some of those life problems or concerns.

Lean on Me art

Everyone needs advice every now and then ... let Lean on Me help you if we can.

Lean on Me,
With Master Follies practices consuming all of my time, what recommendations do you have for keeping up with my studies? - Follies Fallout

Dear "Fallout,"
Master Follies can consume your time, but there is a way to fit everything in! What I would do is make a schedule for the week of different activities you have. Also, include various spots throughout the day to do homework and study. It is important to keep up with schoolwork, even when you are busy. I hope this helps!

Lean on Me,

I just transferred to LCU this semester after attending a college in my hometown in the fall. I am finding that I am very, very homesick. What suggestions do you have for me to get my mind off of being homesick? - Missing Home

Dear "Missing Home,"
I know exactly how you feel about being homesick. My best advice for you is to get involved in as much as possible! The busier you are, the less time you have to think about home. Also, if you are really struggling, you can go to the Lubbock Christian University Counseling Center (2nd floor of SUB). They are excellent and always there to listen. I hope that helps! If you need anything else just let me know!

Lean on Me,

I know LCU is not supposed to be a "party school" but I hear kids all over campus talking about partying almost every day ... should I say something to these kids or what do you think I should do? - Party Pooper

Dear "Party Pooper,"
You would think that a Christian school would not have partying going on, but they all do. I would not necessarily say anything to them; I would just keep your distance if I were you. If you really feel like you should say something to them, then by all means do it. I just think it is best to stay clear of those people if you do not want to get involved in any of that. I hope that helps!
